History:
Lambada is a dance music from Pará, Brazil. The dance became internationally popular in the 1980s, especially in Latin America and Caribbean countries. It has adopted aspects of dances such as forró, salsa, merengue, maxixe and the carimbó. The music lambada being out of fashion in the 90s, dancers thought to adapt the dance to other styles, and lambada now experiencing a new life through the lambada-zouk mainly popular in Brazil.
