History:
Zouk from french antilla is from the biguine itself creolized form of european polka. Zouk is danced in couples very close to each another. It is a dance that is often given as a very suggestive sensuality. Currently the slow version of zouk, called "zouk love", is popular because it is danced primarily locally accentuating the contact and friction between the partners much like the lambada.
