History:
The modern jazz or Jazz dance has a very intense dance originated from 1920. It is a mixture of several dances such as jazz, ballet, modern dance, African dance , tap dance and Spanish dance .
Matt Mattox developed the modern jazz on Broadway in 1946 and has taught at the Joffrey Ballet School.
Main performer are also, Alvin Ailey, teacher and African-American choreographer. He started in 1989, is formed by Martha Graham and Katherine Dunham .
